Dear Friend,
It feels kind of strange, doesn’t it? Having a strong drive to do something… without knowing exactly what that is.
Rest assured, your ambition will not be wasted.
Although temporary (isn’t nearly everything?), your current purpose is to find delight in drifting without a fixed destination… Because getting quiet and paying attention to the things that spark your interest will point the direction to your next project.
Since you can’t blindly run full steam ahead, it’s the perfect time to perfect the art of savouring the present moment and finding peace within, wherever you are.
Don’t push yourself too hard or too fast. Simply give yourself the grace to grow.
If you haven’t already, step one is to unstick the labels you’ve accumulated that no longer apply. You’re beginning a new chapter, so freely shed markers of your old identity: your former profession, your former location, your former past times, etc. You’re even allowed to discard your unhealthy former relationships and your expired former goals.
All of these things have already shaped you, but they are no longer yours. Let them go.
You might find yourself questioning ‘Who am I now? Without X, Y and Z?’ and feel unsure of how to present yourself to the world.
Trust me — during this transition, you’re becoming more and more of you, strengthening your immutable spirit, which remains in tact, irrespective of the various roles you take and leave in life.
Becoming intensely familiar with your essence, your character and your natural gifts is going to bring so much comfort and clarity to your future. So will acknowledging your incredible inherent worth as a human being, separate from past crowning achievements and past painful failures.
Move forward with faith, knowing that you’re on an important detour. You can’t skip it. And you can’t rush through it. But you can consciously progress with your eyes on the horizon.
I am so excited to see what beautiful things unfold for you. I hope you are, too.
Sharing infinite love,
Ali
