Dear Friend,

This love letter is for you if you feel like you’re late to the party (er, self-improvement resolutions) or that you’ve already missed the entire boat.

While the start of a new year can bring in a flurry of excitement, it can also bring in a disproportionate pressure to suddenly get all of our ducks in a now, just after the clock strikes midnight and we finish toasting and belting the last line of ‘Auld Lang Syne.’

I’ll admit, I got swept up in the need for a clean slate and got grumpy when I realized my new scale that gives detailed info about body composition wouldn’t arrive until January 2nd gasp. But I quickly realized how silly I was being and ordered a fitness hacker due to arrive on January 4th – because I almost always go for the free shipping option, lol. Aaaand an arbitrary 3-day wait isn’t going to sink my quest for improved health.

In fact, neither the scale or the tracker are key factors in determining my success: me, driving my decisions, is.

So, if 2026 didn’t start off as you had hoped, shake it off! We’ve barely begun, so don’t throw in the towel… The other 98% of the year is awaiting us.

One of my favorite quotes comes from a highly underrated book by Arnold Bennett called ‘How to Live on 24 Hours a Day.’ It was published in 1908 but the main points remain exceedingly relevant.

He proclaims, ‘You can turn over a new leaf, every hour if you choose.’

That means you can set the tone for the rest of the year, starting now — and start afresh whenever you choose.

Remember, the sum of your actions — in tandem with universal events — is what determines your future.

You didn’t make or break 2026, yet.

Let’s keep becoming more of our best selves and less bothered, okay?

Please share one thing you’re looking forward to accomplishing this year.

Sharing infinite love,

Ali
